Bio Re Barry Clayman
Barry received a Bachelor in Science Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Suffolk University. He retired in 1997 after 32 years of service in the U.S. Government.
Barry was District Governor of Rotary International District 7950 during Rotary Year 2000/2001. The District encompasses Rotary Clubs within the entire State of Rhode Island and Rotary Clubs in Southeastern Massachusetts including the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket
In 2004, Barry traveled to India to assist in a National Immunization Day during which The World Health Organization and Rotary International provided Polio Vaccine to 138,000,000 children. With his service to Rotary, District 7950 presented him with the “Dr. Percy Hodgson Award for Exceptional Service”. During Rotary Year 2004, The Rotary International Foundation awarded the “Citation for Meritorious Service” to him for “furthering of better understanding and friendly relations of peoples of the world”.
Gail and Barry work as a team supporting each other in family as well as community endeavors. Both were raised and educated in Boston, Massachusetts. They moved to Sharon, Ma in 1968 where they raised their daughters Elise and Joanna. They enjoy their time with grandchildren Taylor, Ryan and Nicholas. They retired to Cape Cod in 2007 and participate in civic and religious activities.
IBCS has given both Gail and Barry the opportunity to meet and enjoy the company of fellow collectors. They have attended Bossons Meetings in Burlington, Vermont, Omagh in Ireland, Irving, Texas and the IBCS 25th Anniversary Cruise to the Caribbean.
